STARTS - A Financial Education Class
STARTS (Support and Training with Action to Realize Triumph and Success) is a financial education class for people living on no income or a very low income. We give you practical knowledge to help improve your standard of living right now, like information on comparison shopping, goal-setting and how to get the most out of community resources. We also help you prepare for having an income through speakers on benefits and finding work. Graduates receive a computer or an award worth $75.
Budget, Buy and Save
Budget, Buy and Save is for residents with a steady income. This class focuses on stretching your finances to make it through the month without stress, as well as goal-setting, spending and saving strategies, and how to build your credit. Graduates receive a computer or an award worth $75.
IDA - a Matched Saving Account
REACH’s newest financial health program, is an IDA matched savings account similar to our Youth$ave program designed for youth. You save up to $3000 and your savings are matched with $9,000, resulting in $12,000 you can spend towards a first time home purchase, starting or expanding a small business, college, job training, or assistive devices that help you look for employment.
Free Tax Preparation Site
REACH hosts a Free Tax Preparation Site in partnership with AARP and CASH Oregon. The site is open to residents and community members. Why pay to have your taxes done when you can have them prepared for free with volunteers trained by the IRS?
Career Services
REACH partners with SE Works to help you get a job or find a better one through classes, counseling and other opportunities. Contact at 503-231-0682 ext. 136 for more information.
